As a courtesy, Refuge Counseling & Consulting will verify your insurance benefits prior to your first appointment whenever possible. Please keep in mind that benefit verification is not a guarantee of coverage, and insurance plans may have limitations, exclusions, or changes that affect your responsibility. We encourage you to contact your insurance provider directly to confirm your mental health benefits, coverage, and any potential out-of-pocket expenses.
To allow adequate time for insurance verification and to help ensure a smooth start to counseling, we ask that intake appointments be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance.
If your insurance does not cover your session or only covers a portion of the cost, you will be responsible for any remaining balance.
Yes. A cancellation fee may be charged for the following:
Late arrivals after 15 minutes
No shows
Cancellation less than 24 hours in advance of your scheduled appointment time
Once your requested appointment date and time has been confirmed, you will receive an invitation to access the client portal using the email address provided. Please complete all required forms and documents through the client portal prior to your first session to help us prepare for your appointment.
To participate in telehealth sessions, you will need a reliable internet connection and a device with video and audio capabilities, such as a computer, tablet, or smartphone. Prior to each appointment, you will receive a secure email link to access your session. receive a link via email to join the session.
The first time we meet, we will spend time exploring your needs and your goals for therapy. We will also review confidentiality, intake paperwork, and the counseling process.
